DoorDash Launches Its AI Merchant Tools

DoorDash introduced a suite of AI merchant tools that help restaurants build listings, edit photos, and generate websites from existing content. The rollout includes an onboarding assistant that pulls information from a merchant’s website, a revamped video library with tagged, orderable dishes and image-editing tools designed for food photography.

The photo features include AI Retouch, which replaces backgrounds and optimizes lighting without altering the dish, and AI Replate, which adjusts plating, color and lighting to mimic professional presentation. Merchants can also apply reference styles to images. DoorDash’s website builder automatically generates branded sites using existing menu items, photos and listings, while a new marketing campaign builder automates content creation, email outreach and scheduling.

For restaurants, the tools reduce setup time and improve visual presentation, helping smaller operators compete more effectively on delivery platforms and increase order conversion. By automating listing creation and creative workflows, DoorDash reflects the broader trend of AI-assisted commerce tools streamlining digital operations for local businesses.
