The idea of animated photographs and paintings found in Harry Potter’s world doesn’t seem so far away after seeing the ‘500 People in 100 Seconds’ time lapse video by Eran Amir. Filmed all over Israel, the clip is shows pictures of 500 people holding over 1,500 photographs which, when viewed at a high speed, have the same effect as a flip book. What looks like a moving black and white image on the screen is actually hundreds of photos taken in sequence, creating the illusion of continuous movement.

Anyone who has ever attempted a time lapse video knows how difficult it is to match up each image with the next, but Eran Amir manages to do so seamlessly. ‘500 People in 100 Seconds’ is a great way to get a glimpse of Israel’s many beautiful sights while enjoying an awesome digital creation.
