I am currently an undergrad English student at York University – and loving it! I am otherwise unemployed, though I have done a smattering of tutoring, waitressing/bartending and editing on the side.

I live in a basement apartment with my sister, my boyfriend and my two cats (Pippin and Pooch), and with all that personality it's a full house.
I love to read, write, shop, travel, Farmville, surf the net, cook and eat the rewards. While it is inevitable that some weeks, as a result of an overload of schoolwork, I become a hermit with Pippin, my books and my laptop - I do try to get together with friends at least once a week.

While trend hunting is new to me just rooting around this site has been fascinating! There is so much going on every minute I aspire to just be able to see as much as any of the top trend hunters. ^-^
What is unique that's not in your bio?
I am ALMOST done being an undergrad student! I'll be graduating this summer (2010) and then it's a year of work followed by more hard decisions...
What's your favorite accomplishment?
The Process of a Voice is a collaboration of design by Jeanna LeClaire and creative writing by me that I am very proud of.
How do you define cool?
Awesome in the old sense of the word.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
Not sure yet, I'm still working on it.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
That barrage of new things every ten minutes! It's awesome that so much can be found - the world is small but vast all at once.
What is your favorite trend?
The move towards environmentally designed/oriented lifestyles. It is necessary, functional and usually pretty cool.
How do you reset to be creative?
3/4's are something I learned in a creative writing class. Take a random quote from anywhere, just a sentence or part of a sentence. It can be something that catches your eye or just open a book and put down the first thing you see. Then you write a three sentence story, it should have a clear beginning and end. Do this 4 times and you have 4 stories of 3 lines each (hence 3/4). It's just a nice exercise to get some interesting images, metaphors, characters etc...
What inspires or excites you?
Ted talks are always inspiring and exciting.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
Returning to 1990's fashion! I miss those striped shirts. ^_^
