As Recognizable As Yves Saint Laurent's $28 Million Art Deco Seat

Christie’s famous auction house is having a huge sale from the collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge. The sale is setting records, including $28 million for this leather armchair. The dealer who sold the Art Deco chair to Yves Saint Laurent bought the chair back. French designer made the chair in the period 1917-19 and Yves Saint Laurent purchased the chair in 1970. The presale estimate for the sale price of the Art Deco chair was 3 million euros.

This cluster represents chairs that could be as iconic as Saint Laurent’s Art Deco chair, but can be had today for relatively nothing compared to $28 million.
