This new Amazon One Medical virtual healthcare service is being launched as an option for parents to help them get their kids seen by a professional from the comfort of home.
The service is targeted towards children aged two to 11 and doesn't require medical insurance to be accessed. The service can offer support for common issues like pink eye and lice, while also offering support for more than 10 skin-related issues. Users can access the service for $29 for a message-based visit, while video visits are priced at $49.
Family Physician and National Medical Director for Amazon One Medical Natasha Bhuyan, MD spoke on the Amazon One Medical virtual healthcare service saying, "This service isn’t meant to replace a family’s relationship with their child’s pediatrician, but rather to serve as a convenient option for those ‘in-between’ moments for parents with time-sensitive concerns who don’t already have on-demand access through a One Medical membership."
