The RDM Group Vincicoat PLUS (V+) is Recycled and Resilient

The RDM Group Vincicoat PLUS (V+) coated recycled board is a new packaging solution that takes aim at the long-held perception that recycled materials are wearer than virgin alternatives. The packaging sets a high bar with its 15% to 20% stronger profile when compared to standard recycled components, and contains 85% recycled fiber content at the minimum. The material is reported to achieve superior square stiffness to work well during bending in machines and beyond.

Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer Krzysztof Krajewski spoke further on the RDM Group Vincicoat PLUS (V+) coated recycled board in an announcement saying, "When performance is no longer the trade-off, recycled cartonboard becomes the obvious choice. Stronger boxes, lighter packs, and a circular solution all come together, giving brands the confidence to deliver exceptional solutions to consumers."
Trend Themes
1. High-performance Recycled Packaging - New recycled boards matching or exceeding virgin material strength enable premium packaging that reframes sustainability as a performance attribute.
2. Circular Material Standardization - Standardized recycled fiber content and performance metrics create opportunities for interoperable supply chains and reliable sourcing of circular materials.
3. Lightweight Durable Cartons - Enhanced stiffness-to-weight ratios support lighter shipping profiles while maintaining drop- and machine-handling resilience, altering total landed cost calculations.
Industry Implications
1. Consumer Packaged Goods - Brands gain the potential to combine premium aesthetics with verified recycled content, reshaping product positioning and consumer perception of sustainability.
2. E-commerce Fulfillment - Fulfillment operations could see material-driven reductions in transit damage and pneumatic handling constraints, influencing packaging choice for high-throughput centers.
3. Packaging Manufacturing - Converters and coating formulators face demand for new production lines and adhesives compatible with high-recycled-content boards, changing capital and R&D priorities.
