The New Balance TDS MSNB1 is a Modular Shoe with Three Wearing Modes

The New Balance TDS MSNB1 reinterprets the Niobium Concept 1 through a collaboration between New Balance and Tokyo Design Studio. Designed as a three-in-one silhouette, the footwear transitions between a waterproof outdoor boot, an open-back mule and an indoor slipper to support different activities throughout the day. The modular construction expands the original concept while introducing Tokyo Design Studio's contemporary design language through updated materials and refined styling.

A zipper system running along the tongue and heel allows wearers to remove or reconfigure sections of the shoe as needed. The design features a stretch ripstop upper, welded PU overlays, a neoprene collar, bungee lacing and an eVent waterproof membrane for outdoor performance. Offered in Zinc Blue and Pistachio Butter colorways, the TDS MSNB1 launched on July 2 with a retail price of $300.
