Ubisoft is Making a New Title in 'The Division' World

The Division 2: Survivors is a standalone, free-to-play extraction shooter set within The Division universe, developed by Massive Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment. Rather than following the traditional main-campaign structure, Survivors casts three-player squads into reimagined Washington, D.C. zones where they must complete dynamic AI-driven objectives, secure high-value loot, and then "exfil" through designated extraction points under pressure from both hostile NPC factions and rival player teams. The game emphasizes a risk-versus-reward loop: players carry over only currency and reputation gains between sessions, while gear is session-locked, sharpening the focus on tactical decision-making, map knowledge, and cooperative play.

Survivors will launch concurrently on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with full integration into Ubisoft Connect for cross-play and cross-progression. As a live-service title, it will feature seasonal content updates, periodic world events, and a cosmetic-only monetization model that includes battle passes, themed item bundles, and an optional Founder’s Pack granting early access and exclusive rewards. Ubisoft has outlined a series of closed technical tests in late 2025, invitation only, with broader beta periods planned ahead of a projected early-2026 release, allowing the developer to iterate on balance, pacing, and server performance based on community feedback.
