Bacardi Has Become the Sole Owner of Teeling Whiskey Company

Bacardi completed its acquisition of full ownership of Teeling Whiskey Company, marking the culmination of a relationship that began with a minority investment in 2017 and expanded to majority ownership in 2022. Founders Jack and Stephen Teeling will remain strategic advisors, continuing to help guide the brand's direction and long-term growth.

Since Bacardi's initial investment, Teeling has more than doubled in size and now exports to more than 80 markets worldwide. Founded in 2012, the brand has been recognized as the World's Most Awarded Irish Whiskey according to World Whiskies Awards rankings from 2019 to 2025. Its Dublin distillery, the city's first new distillery in more than 125 years when it opened in 2015, has welcomed over one million visitors.

Bacardi shows how long-term strategic investments can evolve into full acquisitions while preserving founder involvement and brand heritage.
