The Sel De Mer collection from Bydee channels the rhythm of island life, offering prints, textures, and details that feel sun-warmed and effortless. Inspired by golden-hour swims and coastal rituals, the release spans both swimwear and resort silhouettes. Three new prints anchor the collection: Zavanna with deep cocoa tones and petal-like shapes, Solara with soft oranges and greens reminiscent of fading sunsets, and Azania with vibrant mosaics that echo spice markets and painted tiles. Complementing these is Cacao, a crochet story woven with intricate hand-beaded accents. Swim designs introduce new silhouettes like the Kefalonia Top, Corfu Bottom, Antibes Bottom, and Mahé Bottom, all accented with gold crab charms and natural beadwork.
The collection extends beyond swimwear with jewelry designed to layer alongside each piece. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and waist chains are crafted from 14k gold plating on brass, with select pieces featuring natural Peridot stones that vary slightly in hue. Each stone is hand-picked to ensure individuality, giving every piece a unique finish. Together, the jewelry and apparel create a wardrobe that transitions easily from sunlit swims to twilight gatherings, capturing a sense of barefoot luxury.
"Creating Sel De Mer and bringing it to life in the Seychelles post Euro Summer was pure magic," shares Bydee CEO and Creative Director Dessy Hairis. "Every element, from the prints to the location to the intricate details, felt like an ode to the vibe I want Bydee to bring to our Australian shores this Summer – salty hair, balmy skin, barefoot island ease with an elevated touch." Through this vision, Sel De Mer becomes more than a seasonal release, serving as a tribute to the sensory beauty of summer and the artistry of thoughtful design.
