Nreal Raised $60 Million to Make its 'Nreal Air' Market-Ready

'Nreal,' the premier developer of mixed reality eyewear, has raised $60 million USD in a Series C+ round of funding to complete research and development on its 'Nreal Air' ultra-lightweight wearable. Nreal will also use this money to bring its products, such as the upcoming Nreal Air, to a wider market through global business expansion.

The Nreal Air is described by Nreal as a "portable movie theater" because it outputs a simulated 201-inch virtual display when worn. The display is projected to the wearer at a range of six feet. While the company has yet to confirm the weight of the glasses, it has stated that the Nreal Air will be ultra-lightweight, despite its high-quality OLED display. The low weight is achieved by the eyewear needing to be connected to a mobile device, which allows the eyewear to save on processing power.
