Spotify expanded language support for its interactive AI DJ, adding French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese while rolling the feature out to additional international markets. The AI DJs — named Maia, Ben, Alex and Dani — provide spoken commentary and accept conversational prompts to request tracks, change moods or switch genres, with localised personalities tailored to each language.
The update followed earlier enhancements that introduced chat-style requests and playlist generation through natural-language descriptions, and Spotify said the AI DJ feature is now available in more than 75 countries. The company also expanded access to markets including Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea and Switzerland.
For listeners, the multilingual AI DJs make conversational music discovery more accessible by allowing users to guide playback in their native language.
