AT&T Partners with Smartify to Highlight 5G Technology and AR

AT&T and Smartify, "the world’s most popular museum guide," have reimagined three impressionist paintings. Having launched on May 18th for International Museum Day, the initiative is part of a year-long program that seeks to demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of 5G technology and augmented reality in the arts and culture sector. AT&T Associate Vice President Andrew Bennett is hopeful about the technology: "Whether it’s experiencing Monet’s famous works, or taking a virtual museum tour, the power of connectivity and AR make exploring art and artists possible from nearly anywhere."

The impressionist paintings of focus for the campaign are Claude Monet’s famous water lilies. Users are able to interact with the paintings, toggling between a side-by-side display—how these works of art were meant to be seen, and from Monet's own perspective—the paintings "are mapped to the pond in Giverny that inspired the French artist."
