COGNOMEN Football Sabot Reworks a Classic Football Boot into a Leather Clog

Japanese label COGNOMEN has introduced the Football Sabot, a slip-on shoe referencing the proportions and panel structure of traditional football cleats. The design incorporates a black leather upper with stitched paneling extending across the forefoot and sidewalls, while the low-profile shape retains the elongated proportions associated with archival football footwear. A backless clog construction replaces the conventional heel counter, shifting the silhouette away from performance use toward casual wear.

The shoe combines a textured leather exterior with a sculpted black sole unit and rounded forefoot geometry. Layered stitching lines wrap around the upper, while the tongue structure extends upward through the center of the silhouette beneath tonal lace detailing. COGNOMEN also incorporates subtle contrast textures between the leather panels and sole surfaces throughout the monochromatic construction. The COGNOMEN Football Sabot releases on May 29 for ¥69,300 JPY.
