Volvo's EX90 EV SUV is Described to be the Safest Car Yet by the Brand

Volvo introduces the new electric EX90 EV SUV and it has three rows and seats seven. The initial design has a 111 kWh battery pack that a set of permanent magnet electric motors for 380 kW of 517 horsepower and 910 Nm of AWD torque. Notably, the EX90 EV SUV will be the brand's first bi-directional charging car, which allows drivers to use their car as home-scale batteries as well, in case there are any power outages.

The company also plans to sell home charging devices including an energy management system and a wall box. The exterior design highlights aerodynamics which has a drag coefficient of .29. Head of design at Volvo T. Jon Mayer states, "We’ve taken inspiration from yacht design to outline the Volvo EX90’s beautiful and sleek proportions [...] If you look at the front, it’s proud and confident – inspired by a sailboat’s ability to shear through the ocean’s slamming waves. But it’s also rounder overall, which enables the air to flow around the car more efficiently."
