The ‘Voice-Enabled Makeup Assistant’ (VMA), a first of its type, was created using machine learning and has smart mirror technology supported by The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) augmented reality and artificial intelligence capabilities. The device is designed to aid the visually impaired with applying makeup and can be controlled using a voice assistant that helps the user apply the makeup correctly. Additionally, the tool examines the cosmetics application's consistency, limits, and coverage on the user's face. It informs the user of any facial areas that require touch-ups.
"The launch of our Voice-Enabled Makeup Assistant is an important step in our journey towards makeup accessibility for all by removing barriers to engaging with beauty products and services," said Monica Rastogi, Executive Director, Corporate Cultural Relevancy and Inclusion and Diversity.
