Mona boasts a diagnostic system for electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing that employs artificial intelligence and rapid impedance analysis. This technology is designed to identify minuscule, latent defects during the assembly process — such as microscopic welding flaws, for example — in a fraction of the time required by traditional quality control methods.
Mona's diagnostic system specifically targets the Battery Module Assembly stage. The innovation is also being adapted for use with emerging solid-state battery technology, aiming to detect imperfections within the solid electrolyte that could lead to short circuits.
Mona is supported by the Korea Innovation Foundation (INNOPOLIS) as part of its 2025 Global Technology Commercialization Support Program, which aims to help Korean firms introduce their technologies in North America.
