Instacart has expanded its partnership with Allegiance Retail Services, a retailer-owned cooperative that supports more than 125 independently owned supermarkets across the Northeast to focus on improving how customers shop across online and in-store channels.
As part of the collaboration, Instacart’s 'Storefront Pro' platform now powers e-commerce for all Allegiance retailers, while 'Carrot Ads' tools support digital promotions. In select Foodtown locations, Instacart’s AI-powered 'Caper Carts' are being introduced to enhance the in-store experience, with additional stores planned for 2026. Allegiance is also expanding its use of 'FoodStorm,' Instacart’s system for managing catering and prepared food orders, with more launches planned this year; future phases will include 'Carrot Tags' electronic shelf labels.
Instacart is also partnering with AppCard, Allegiance’s loyalty provider, to unify loyalty rewards, coupons, and personalized deals across online and in-store shopping. Together, these technologies help independent grocers operate more efficiently and deliver a more consistent, personalized customer experience.
