When you think of police cruisers, the classic black and white cop cars from movies often come to mind. However, there are more than a few varieties when you really look deeper.

Take the electric police cruiser concept car debuted this year at the LA Auto Show. It resembles a Hummer in size, but is made by BMW. It features a hydrogen/electric engine that boasts zero emissions. For a police cruiser that looks like a tank, this is no small feat.

There's even DIY police cruisers. Although it's hard to imagine a police force that needs its officers to make their own cars, this is an interesting concept.

For those off-road criminals, there's even an all-terrain police cruiser.
