Tbilisi-based design studios XYZ Integrated Architecture and Sandro Lominashvili work together to create the Zero-Thickness Chair. This is a unique piece of furniture with joints that appear to be non-existent entirely in contrast to its strong build. It is a functional seat that is crafted using steel, MDF, and a unique joinery technique.
The strength is applied by welding steel rubes in the position it rests in, which is also known as Zero-Thickness, thus the namesake. This refers to any edge that is connected by more than two faces.
