Sharmila's yoga classes in Hyderabad, India have become really popular thanks to some really clever advertising by ad agency, Mindset. The ads, which direct people to the location of Sharmila's classes, look like roadsigns, and when you are driving, will certainly make you look twice. I question how legal it is to have signs that match standard roadsigns, but in India, I guess anything goes until caught.
Implications - Companies that use humor marketing as a tactic to appeal to consumers are very wise. Not only do such companies capture the attention of more consumers, but they provide a brief escape from everyday responsibilities. From that point on, consumers will recognize that particular brand as more approachable than others for immediate relief they were capable of providing.
