A crystallized glass facade acts as a visual focal point for the Wusibei Thaihot Plaza by design studio Spark. The shopping center blurs the lines the definitions of interior and exterior thanks to a concept that is meant to bring the city's vibrant energy indoors.
The Wusibei Thaihot Plaza is located on a busy intersection in Fuzhou’s northern Jinan district where it has been built as an homage to its rich history of trading and commerce. Marco Polo once described Fuzhou as "a trading centre in precious stones", later inspiring Spark studio to use crystallized shapes in their glorious design.
In addition to its spectacular facade, the plaza features colour-shifting aluminium panels and three large LED screens while its rooftop showcases a full cultural programme that is open 24 hours a day. Moreover, the plaza is home to restaurants and bars and is a haven for leisure and entertainment functions.
