"The archetypal wrestler is a paradigm for constructed masculinity; in this scenario however, Pusateri’s male subject seems destined to be overwhelmed by his female adversary… These these drawings are marked with the artist’s hand in faceted charcoal, a medium and treatment well matched to the sense of turmoil and struggle between the figures."
