Wallpapered Dumpsters Considered "Polite Graffiti"

Wallpapered dumpsters are starting to pop up all over the place including New York City, Los Angeles and even Rome. Artist Christine Finley is the culprit of these decorative dumpsters which she considers to be “polite graffiti.”

The made-over dumpsters actually provide a nice little element of decor for the streets and look much nicer than plain, garbage-green dumpsters.

Implications - The idea of painting the dumpsters is not only a way to express creativity, but also a way to express environmental activism. Many people don't pay attention to garbage dumpsters, but when they feature bright colors and printed designs, they are bound to get noticed. Christine Finley's idea is definitely an awesome one.
