The Science Museum in South Kensington, London has an interactive Living Image exhibit called The Arcstream AV. This fascinating installation replicates the impossible feat of walking on water using an overhead projector with sensors which projects the 1024 x 768 image of water on the floor. The device also interacts with the visitors.
Absolutely fascinating. The video is really amazing!
Using a 6,500 lumens overhead projector fitted with a range of sensors, Living Image projects the 1024 x 768 image of water on the floor display which changes with the visitor’s interaction with it in real-time. Special infrared sensors let more than one persons walk onto the surface of the “water”, and we absolutely love the other psychedelic stuff this thing does that I’m sure would be doubly interesting after a joint or two.
