The upcoming second issue of men's fashion magazine Vogue Hommes Japan features a political cover story entitled, "The Americans" by prolific photographer Hedi Slimane.
The cover features model Victor Chambon with the flag of the United States of America painted on his face in the style of the violence-obsessed character the Joker from the recent Batman movie "The Dark Knight."
The preview images from the inside editorial show Victor practicing boxing with the famous Hollywood Hills for a backdrop, holding two American flags with a wolf mask on his head and standing in the middle of a road with a giant peace sign on his face.
Maybe it’s the struggle of both sides of America, the peaceful America and the violent and battle-thirsty America that the title "The Americans" refers to.
The editorial was styled by Nicola Formichetti. The last image is a teaser cover, with the eagle also shot by Hedi Slimane.
