The Telegram Stop website lets you give your granny (or anyone else) a thrill by sending them an old-fashioned telegram.

For just $4.70, you simply type your 400 max. character message in on the website, then Telegram Stop inserts the classic STOP after each period. Your message is then printed up to look just like an authentic vintage telegram.

Telegram Stop posts the telegram to the intended recipient via snail mail and emails you a copy. (STOP)

Telegrams haven't died it just requires a bit more research to find companies that still send the old-fashioned hand delivery telegrams. There are several. www.itelegram.com and www.corporatetelegrams.com to name a couple. There are others. Western Union bit the dust some 5 years ago. But I don't think they've had a telegram messaging service since the 90s.
