Vince Vaughn is the best deal in Hollywood according the Forbes Ultimate Star Payback list! They said Vince has given directors the best bang for their buck. This is based on the gross income from his last three big theatre movies (The Break-up, Wedding Crashers and Dodgeball) filmed over the last five years. For every dollar they paid him, Vince made studios $14.72 gross income.

The Ultimate Star Payback list “calculated the gross income for each film by adding half the worldwide box office and the first three months of wholesale DVD revenues and then subtracting its budget,” Salon.com says. “The gross income was divided by the actor’s total compensation to derive his or her payback for the movie.”

Tobey McGuire came in second with a gross income return of $13.44 for every dollar he was paid for Spider-Man 2 and 3 and for Seabiscuit.

Julia Roberts came third at $13.19 per dollar. Brad Pitt made studios $12.73 for every dollar; Naomi Watts and Matt Damon were both $12.16, George Clooney was $11.56, Jennifer Aniston was $10.48, Hugh Jackman was $9.90 and Ben Stiller made studios $9.50 for every dollar they paid him.

The list ends with Nicole Kidman at spot 35, making studios a measly $1.01 for The Golden Compass, The Invasion and Bewitched.

Kidman’s ex, Tom Cruise, brought in $3.99 not altogether surprising, given the imbalance of his high salary demands with the 2007 box-office flop “Lions for Lambs.”

Jim Carrey averaged $4.11 per dollar earned in “The Number 23,” “Fun With Dick & Jane” and “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
