Cult Band-Inspired Eyewear

Jacques Marie Mage Unveils New Velvet Underground Collab

Jacques Marie Mage, an artisanal eyewear brand based in Los Angeles, has partnered with Universal Music and The Velvet Underground to launch a new pair of sunglasses dubbed the Fatale. The design for the new shades was inspired by those worn by Nico at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, and their name comes from the iconic Velvet Underground track 'Femme Fatale.'

Made in Japan, the new eyewear boasts a beta-titanium frame with 4mm rim wire and hairline detailing, beta-titanium temples with an inner epoxy detail tip, and monoblock titanium hinge construction. In addition, the frames arrive in a sleek silver case and come packaged with an official re-issue of The Velvet Underground's 1969 in a custom-dipped color.

Jacques Marie Mage's 'Fatale' will be offered in two color schemes, both of which will be limited to a total of 350 pieces, making them rare collector's items that should appeal to fans of the cult-favorite band.
