Un_Natural Bestiary by Andrea Alessio, a photographer based in Treviso, Italy, is a sad series of photos that depicts animals in artificial landscapes, cages and more. As the title of the project suggests, these conditions are completely unnatural and yet they have become natural over time. As the Steve Bisson writes, "The forest does not frighten modern man anymore. Its sinister night calls no longer stalk the minds of children. Little remains of the supernatural and the wild no longer beckons."
That is because, as Un_Natural Bestiary by Andrea Alessio shows, humans have managed to subdue almost every creature on the planet. Interestingly, Bisson suggests that as these captives lose their animal instincts, so too does man. The series is very eye-opening.
