Driverless Taxi

This 2008 at London’s Heathrow Airport 19-computer operated electric cars will go into action. The automatic taxis will be used to link Heathrow’s Terminal 5 with a parking lot. The technology developed by the British firm ATS called “ULTra” can pick up passengers once they are instructed and transports them to their destination. The sensors on the floor control the vehicles along their way.

Implications - The movement to a technology-driven world has resulted in the development of a number of products that run independently as machines. Industries have seen a massive uprising in the technological capacity of machines to operate almost completely self-sufficiently, which may eventually make many jobs obsolete.
