High in the branches of forest timbers lies interlinking wires strung together like a web to form the outline of an anatomical body part known as Tree Lungs.

The glowing light installation is part of the Fantastic 2012 art festival and designed by London's Loop.pH. The structures are spread out across the various trees in Lille and decorate the plants while absorbing the energy from the sun during the day. At night time, they become ethereal and illuminated, connecting to the limbs of the branches. They appear as if they are actually a life source to the tall, leafy structures, breathing beautiful sustainability into them.

Tree Lungs will proudly be on display for the Fantastic 2012 art festival until the New Year. Stats for Life-Saving Timber Installments Trending: Older & Chilly
