Typography is something that people often experiment with, but calligraphy not so much; that is until Tolga Girgin got his hands on the artform. A graphic designer and electrical engineer by trade, Tolga Girgin experiments with calligraphy from time to time. In this experimenting, he found a way to get his words to leap off of the page.
Although it looks as though Tolga Girgin's work is a clever use of paper strips, slits and glue, he actually relies more on shadow and perspective. By expertly manipulating the letters in artistic ways, Tolga Girgin manages to give them the illusion that they are peeling or popping off of the sheet of paper. It is all quite impressive.
