The Sophie Molins ‘The Protestor’ exhibit will be unveiled next week at the London Great Western Studios. A socially aware photographer, Molins has been recognized for her collaborations with Artists Project Earth (APE), a charitable organization that funds groups with a climate change focus.
Molins’ London Great Western Studios display will remain true to her interest in global issues. Only this time, she has shifted her focus with The Protestor, a politically oriented display. The pictures in the set feature an array of resistance-related activity, complete with up close shots of signs that read, "Occupy Everything" and, "I Am Trying."
The Protestor resonates with the past year’s Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. While there has been much debate regarding movement tactics and ideology, Molins has distanced herself from the noise by documenting the affairs. The result is a visual presentation of topics that are mostly spoken about rather than seen.
