Ten to One and Uncle Nearest Team Up to Launch Premium Rum

In celebration of Black History Month, two black-owned spirit makers -- Ten to One and Uncle Nearest -- teamed up to launch 'Bourbon Cask Finish Rum.' According to Ten to One's founder, Marc-Kwesi Farrell, the new premium rum expression aims to honor "the many Black spirits pioneers whose contributions to the industry have been largely forgotten."
To create the new spirit, Ten to One's signature 8-year-old dark rum was finished in Uncle Nearest's 1856 bourbon cask barrels. As a result, the rich rum takes on a unique creme brûlée-like flavor infused with notes of dark fruit and nut. In addition, the product will be limited to 10,000 bottles, making it a rarer item that should appeal to collectors.
Coinciding with the launch of the rum, the two brands will also release an illustrated cocktail recipe book called 'Kindred Spirits,' that will feature 28 different cocktail recipes.
