These handwoven dish and tea towel designs are eye-catching with their beautiful color combination and impeccable craft technique. Feature in Dezeen's latest school show, this work is by Jasmina Diggelmann, a student and emerging designer at the Lucerne School of Art and Design in Switzerland.
Jasmina Diggelmann clearly reflected on an individual's ability to create something and the lack of accessibility that is often present in design and art circles, as well as other industries at large. This is why the student embarked on a cooperation process with people with disabilities to create the beautiful collection of handwoven dish and tea towel designs. The jumping-off point for this project was the notion of a "dream place." Each participant "defined [this] for themself and gave a design expression" that was later realized in the final work. Diggelmann embraces "the potential of the participative processes in adapted workshops."
