Studio Lentala Designs the Rom and Lupa Chairs for Children

Amsterdam-based design firm Studio Lentala presents a look at the new Rom and Lupa Chairs, which are made for children to help improve their overall mental and physical health. The seats are a physical seating solution by the studio that highlights the impact that passive sitting can have on children. The studio notes that our bodies are able to sit in hundreds of positions and embraced differently in varying cultures.
Founder of the studio Boris Lancelot explains to Dezeen that "Chairs shape our daily movement patterns, limiting our bodies to very few sitting postures and leading to us missing out on gentle muscular diversity. The result is a negative cycle where inactivity leads to poor physical fitness, poor health and low self-esteem. For these reasons, some have called sitting the new smoking."
