Storm Inspired Haute Couture - Project Runway's Siriano Rocks Fashion Week (VIDEO)

Christian Siriano took the world by storm with his jaw-droppingly beautiful Spring collection, inspired by the “fierce” and colorful drama of Mother Nature’s stormy sunset skies. Siriano captured the magical effect of dim yellow and flashy orange light, battling to shine through dark clouds. The pallette ranges from charcoal to silver gray with highlights of bold color. Siriano called some of the pieces “lightening dresses” and then there is the dramatic sunset dress with a victorian inspired cloud-like hat in bright orange. This reflects a major zeitgeist I’m seing frequently now in architecture, fine arts and even wood-clad technology. I think the fiercer Mother Nature gets, the more we desire to have a connection to her, to feel that we too are part of nature and the artifacts we create a part of her grand design.
