What do you get when you combine quilting and astronomy? If you said Stellar Quilts then there’s a good chance that you’ve already seen these outer space-inspired quilts from Jimmy McBride.

McBride was inspired to create his Stellar Quilts by the long nights he spent at sea working for a shipping company. “There’s no ‘log cabins’ or ‘poinsettias’ around so i just stare out the window until something catches my eye.”

McBride has used everything from The Pillars of Creation to asteroids as inspiration for his Stellar Quilts which are available for purchase in his Etsy store.
