Space Squid is an Austin, Texas-based sci-fi and humor magazine that is really raising the bar when it comes to original publishing practices. For their ninth issue, Space Squid published a digital edition, as well as 15 clay-tablet editions.

Implications - Before the Internet, there was print publication. And before the printing press, there was cave drawings and clay-tablets. But the influence of what seems like an extinct and archaic medium on modern writing is undeniable, and Space Squid is celebrating this influence in their ninth issue. They are attempting to fight back against the high price of publishing on paper with their clay-tablet mags. Fred Flinstone will definitely be pleased.
