Sound Waves As Design - Storyline Shelf Means "Bliss"

This shelf represents “bliss,” not through its design alone, but in meaning as well.

“By first processing a word into soundwaves, the physical shape is then mirrored in powder-coated steel, using an explicit folding technique.”

The shape is of the audio waves for the spoken word “bliss.” The shelves are designed by Frederik Roije, and can be made to represent a range of words.  It’s also an elegant and meaningful way store books or show off your most precious possessions. Each Storyline shelf retails for $320.
