Parking lots will soon make their own contribution to the environment by generating power. First among the innovative power-generating concepts developed is the Solasis Light Tower, which is a design from Designboom and Nissan’s ‘Think Ouside the Parking Box’ competition.

Designed by Klaud Wasiak and Yongbang Ho, the Solasis Light Tower uses cars’ windshields to generate energy. Cars are parked so that their windshields redirect the light from the sun’s rays onto a solar power receptor. Read more about how the Solasis Light Tower works at Inhabitat.
