This funky handbag with built in solar panels is one hot purse! While the first handbags with solar-powered functionality to hit the market were for the most part ugly, the designs are starting to pick up.

This red suede handbag with blue panel and brown leather straps is the creation of C’N'C Costume National designer Ennio Capasa. Not only does it look fantastic, but it’s practical too, allowing you to charge smaller gadgets like your phone or iPod without electricity. Imagine, you could have a picnic in the park and actually gain battery life!

“I put a challenge into the project: to make Italian luxury contemporary,” he told WWD. “I imagined a pop, chic bag and I am satisfied with the result.”

Finally you can be eco techie chic!
