Who says seniors can’t have fun in the sack? Most people can’t handle the thought of their grandparents getting frisky in their old age, but for a growing number of 70-80-something adults, sex is still an integral part of their relationships. A survey of 3,005 Americans between 57 and 80 revealed a healthy appetite for getting physical. Those who weren’t getting as much action attributed it to lack of a partner or health-related reasons, but not a lack of will. You better believe they still want it! University of Chicago professor, Edward Laumann said, “It turns out that healthy people are sexually active if they have a partner, and that this is an important part of the quality of life.” From the BBC: “Sex with a partner in the last year was reported by: * 73% of those aged 57 to 64 “Of those who said they were sexually active, most said they were having sex at least two or three times a month. Half of the people surveyed up to age 75 said they had oral sex. About half of the men and a quarter of the women said they masturbated, regardless of whether they had a sexual partner.” References: news.bbcFiled In: |
