Here’s a printer that prints solids—not solid colors, solid objects! Any 3-D object that can be created on a computer can now be printed just like the Star Trek Replicator.

Objet is a $40,000 desktop invention that creates prototype models. Shapeways is a spin-off where inventors can upload their concepts and order a full-sized prototype of their creation. Make me a Counselor Deanna Troi, Scottie, stat!
