Forget about itchy and tight briefs because the new samurai underwear is doing away with uncomfort. These briefs are made out of 35% polyester, 5% polyurethane and 60% cotton which allows for breathable non-itchy, smooth, silky underwear.

The samurai underwear also have traditional Japanese style designs on them which adds the authentic Japanese feel they have. Each design comes with its own Japanese samurai name such as "Masayuki Sanada" and "Kenshin Uesugi."

Implications - For largely amorphous reasons, Japan's cultural aesthetic always seems to please clothing aficionados, particularly in Western Europe and North America. So, as underwear becomes yet another frontier for personal expression, it's important that clothing designers include style elements from Japan so as to attract customers with a pre-disposition to apparel from Nippon.
