 The Salon de Lingerie International While the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows are a big deal in North America, an even bigger lingerie show makes the Angels look flat. The Salon de Lingerie International isn’t just a single show—it’s a four day even in Paris and it focuses on the next big thing in sexy undies. It has everything from beautiful delicates and ultra racy corsets to practical pieces for niche needs like nursing or very flat chests. This year 27,147 visitors showed up for the event that ran from January 24-27. The timing couldn’t be more perfect either; the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day always see a huge surge in lingerie purchases.  Celebrating the theme of Ultra modernity, the Ultra Lingerie evening, which place on Thursday 24th January 2008, was a wonderful event to open the show. Understated motifs, unexpected volumes, explosive colours, perfectly geometric forms and divine fabrics … the Ultra Lingerie fashion show found balance between traditional expertise and avant-garde creation – partnership between designers and fabric specialists, invited to let their talent and seek inspiration in modernity to dream up the lingerie of tomorrow.
