Didi has introduced its latest robot taxi car concept called the Didi Neuron. The concept was revealed at Didi's virtual company event by COO Meng Xing as a part of Didi's plan to develop its robot taxi cars with local Chinese car manufacturers. Mng Xing said: "We hope they will be domestically produced. We hope the supply chain is controllable, and even 90% of the key components inside can be domestically produced."
The Didi Neuron taxi car concept aims to improve the overall passenger experience with its distinctive feature of adding robotic arms. The robotic arms in the taxi car concept are made to assist in carrying luggage and retrieving items such as water bottles and others. The Didi Neuron has also removed the need for a driver's seat, which offers more space for passengers. Didi hopes to have these autonomous vehicles operational and integrated into its network by 2025.
