Dead Trees & Floral Prints - Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 Men's (GALLERY)

Roberto Cavalli offered a paradoxical contrast in patterns in the Spring 2009 menswear collection. One recurring theme was that of floral patterns, seen on everything from pants to pajama-like robes; the other was a pattern of what appears to be the silhouette of dead winter tree branches against a vibrant sunset.

Playing on the theme of opposites even more, the vibrancy of life, seen in the the flowers is depicted in cool, icy shades of winter blue while the naked branches are held against a sky the colour of exotic, tropical flowers.
