In the wake of upcoming movie releases like ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’, it should come as no surprise that someone like Rob Osborne would re-imagine historic American figures as pirates. All sporting eye patches, presidents Abe Lincoln and George Washington along with founding father Benjamin Franklin make up this oddly humorous series. In my opinion, all three portraits look rather badass.
Rob Osborne illustrated these posters in a pop art style, using halftones to color in the images and comic book-ish line work to define each figure. It’s as though Roy Lichtenstein himself crafted these images.
Those interested in getting their hands on one of these wacky illustrations may do so on Rob Osborne’s Etsy page, where he sells each print for a modest $19 a piece.
